Kathryn Bernardo reached another milestone after bagging her first-ever Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Award!

She was hailed Best Actress at the 72nd FAMAS Award for her excellent performance as Philo in “A Very Good Girl.” Among the nominees under the Best Actress category were Maricel Soriano (“In His Mother’s Eyes”), Charlie Dizon (“Third World Romance”), Marian Rivera (“Rewind”), Sharon Cuneta (“Family Of Two”), and Eugene Domingo (“Becky & Badette”).

In her acceptance speech, Kathryn emphasized that she didn’t expect to win any awards when she filmed “A Very Good Girl.”

“This is my first. Thank you so much po, FAMAS. Noong tinanggap ko ang pelikula na ‘A Very Good Girl,’ di naman ako nag-eexpect ng any awards or nominations. Tinanggap ko ang pelikula na to dahil naniniwala ako sa materyal, naniwala ako sa mga kasama ko,” she said.

“This movie is a product of hardwork, love, and passion, so maraming salamat ng lahat ng sumuporta, nagbigay ng oras at lahat ng nagmahal sa pelikulang ito.”

Meanwhile, she posted a black-and-white photo of herself with her FAMAS trophy on X with the caption, “Thank you, FAMAS!”

Kathryn previously bagged awards for her roles in “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” “The Hows of Us,” “2 Good 2 Be True,” and “Barcelona: A Love Untold.” 

She’ll reprise her role as Joy in “Hello, Love, Again,” the upcoming sequel to the 2019 box office hit “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” this November alongside Alden Richards.
