Modern Family‘s reboot speculations were sparked by Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Instagram Story. In it, the actor who played Mitchell Pritchett on the show revealed a seemingly recent picture of the Modern Family set and captioned it with “Haven’t seen this view in a while.”

With the same caption, Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s on-screen husband Eric Stonestreet also posted a picture of an aged version of Ferguson’s character on his Instagram Story. Eric Stonestreet played the role of Cameron Tucker in Modern Family.

Due to the Modern Family cast members’ back-to-back posts, fans were hyped about a potential reboot of the sitcom. However, some viewers are skeptical, questioning the feasibility of a full revival and suggesting a reunion special might be more likely. Adding to the confusion, a viral photo of a “Modern Family” semi-truck promoting the show has surfaced, though the timing of both the posts and the truck remain unclear.

We recall that Modern Family star Sofia Vergara was asked on “The Tonight Show” in January about the possibility of a reboot. The actress who played Gloria Delgado-Pritchett jokingly acknowledged the need for some time to pass before revisiting the characters. Yet, she also playfully poked fun at her 78-year-old on-screen husband Ed O’Neill (who played Jay Pritchett), implying that a potential reboot shouldn’t be put off for too long.

Earlier this month, Ed O’Neill himself talked about the potential Modern Family reunion with TV Insider while promoting his upcoming series “Clipped.” While he admitted, “I don’t like to do that stuff,” he left the door open, saying, “I mean, I am open to it. I like everybody involved, so I wouldn’t be the one to hold things up if everyone else wanted to do it.”

Modern Family debuted on September 23, 2009, and will be celebrating 15 years this year. Since their big anniversary is coming up, all the talk online makes a reunion special sound like a fun way to mark the occasion and make the fans happy.
