A 21-year-old female under tight police surveillance was arrested during a buy-bust operation here and yielded some PHP3.4 million worth of “shabu,” an official said Monday.
Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, said the woman is tagged as a “high-value individual” in the police’s list of drug personalities.
“We are now looking into whether she had previous involvement in the illegal drug trade or if there are pending cases against her,” Polinar said.
The woman, who hails from the nearby town of Bacong, was arrested in Purok Bliss in Barangay Talay here on Sunday evening after she allegedly sold suspected shabu to an undercover operative.
Seized from her possession were more or less 500 grams of shabu.
Operatives from the local police, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and police intelligence units took part in the anti-illegal drug operation.
The suspect is now detained as a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is readied against her. (PNA)
