US election 2024 live updates: Trump predicts ‘nasty’ second term in office as Lady Gaga and Oprah to support Harris

Harris’s appearance on Saturday Night Live just days before America votes may have been a violation of election rules.

The vice president poked fun at Donald Trump as she made the surprise cameo on the comedy show this weekend as the rivals enter the final stage of their White House campaigns.

Harris, who has been played on the 50th season of the comedy show by Maya Rudolph, appeared in a sketch with the actress after flying to New York City on her way to campaign in Michigan.

Now a commissioner with the Federal Communications Commission, a government agency that regulates radio and television in the US, says the appearance may have violated its “equal time” rule.

Donald Trump predicted a “nasty” second term in office if he beats Kamala Harris on Election Day.

Trump made the prediction at his third rally of Sunday in Macon, Georgia.

“It’s gonna be so much fun. It’ll be nasty… at the beginning in particular… You’re gonna see things that you’re not gonna believe,” he said.

Trump has arrived at the Pennsylvania rally.

He is currently talking about voter fraud and he claims the election should be over by 9pm on Election Day.

“You ought to have the election over by nine o’clock,” Trump said. “I’m hearing now they’re going to take weeks, and you imagine they spend all this money, all this money on machines, and they’re going to say we may take an extra 12 days…”

It is not unusual for the count to take days, even weeks if the results are close.

It’s the final Sunday of the election campaign and Trump and Harris are making their final pitches to voters in the swing states.

Harris is focusing on Michigan today and will make stops in Detroit and Lansing.

Trump, meanwhile, is zig-zagging through Pennsylvania, North Carolina and finishing up in Georgia this evening.

He will visit Lititz PA, Kinston NC, and Macon GA.

“I told a great guy, RFK Jr., Bobby, I say Bobby you work on women’s health,” Trump said

While this year’s presidential election may not have as much of a focus on climate change as many wish it would, voters can still make a difference when they head to the polls.

Across the US, there are 159 statewide ballot measures in 41 states, according to Ballotpedia. Only a handful of those deal with environmental issues and just a couple are specifically related to climate change.

Unsurprisingly, these measures are on the ballot in states threatened this year by extreme climate events. Earth had its hottest summer on record, bringing historic temperatures across multiple regions.

“They watch these stores being robbed, guys walking out with refrigerators, 500 thugs going into a department store, cleaning it out, some of them with refrigerators on their back,” the former president said during the rally.

“I hope she laughed on SNL in front of millions of people because that’s probably worth two to three million votes right there,” the US Senator from Florida said.
