Grabajabba stepped up on his debut run with a determined victory at Southwell last time out, but Michael Appleby’s runner now carries a penalty and this looks a tougher ask.
That is because Waiting For Love won by an impressive seven lengths last time out when front-running tactics were applied and the drop back to seven furlongs could well suit.
The interesting contender here is Bear Rock who has improved with each of his three starts and may step up again on his recent second here.
7.00 Wolverhampton – Doyle takes ride on returning Dyrholaey
James Doyle takes the ride on the hugely-exciting Dyrholaey in the Gamble Responsibly At BetUK Handicap (7.00).
The Archie Watson-trained three-year-old was last seen finishing down the field at Royal Ascot in the Palace Of Holyrood Stakes but has since undergone a gelding operation and could be a class apart from this field.
Richard Fahey saddles Airman, who ran well after a five-month lay-off, and if he has come on for that first run back he would be dangerous to dismiss.
Filly One has not been seen for 368 days but she still remains unbeaten after two runs and, if fully wound up for this, could be well handicapped off an opening mark of 79.
7.30 Wolverhampton – Harbour Vision on a hat-trick for Dixon
Scott Dixon’s Harbour Vision arrives on a hat-trick mission in the Win £1M With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap (7.30).
The nine-year-old has come back to form recently, winning twice here in November, with Mikkel Mortensen coming in for the ride this time.
Jack Doughty gets aboard the Tony Carroll-trained Port Erin, who he rode to victory last time out at Chelmsford but does have a 5lb rise to contend with here.
Lunarscape transferred her good turf form to the all-weather when getting there in the shadow of the post last time out at Lingfield and a 3lb rise may not stop her.
