A beautiful seaside village in Spain known for its rich history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture is one of the cheapest places to buy a home. Murcia’s Costa Cálida (the “Warm Coast”) is a beautiful stretch of coastline in southeastern Spain.
Spanning approximately 250 kilometers along the Mediterranean, it offers a mix of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and opportunities for outdoor activities.
While Costa Cálida is beautiful, it is less internationally known than Costa del Sol or Costa Blanca, leading to lower property demand and prices.
The region offers a mix of luxury homes, modern apartments, and traditional Spanish villas, catering to various budgets.
The Costa Cálida lives up to its name with over 300 sunny days a year and mild winters.
Average temperatures range from 15C in winter to 30C in summer, making it ideal for year-round outdoor activities.
Sophie Rodriguez, manager of an estate agency with offices in the north of Murcia told Spain Property Guides: “The Costa Calida is appealing to an array of different types of clients due to the diversity of the area.
“We have many golf courses that will keep even the keenest golfer busy, wonderful beaches, hidden coves & beach chiringitos that would rival any long haul destination!”
She also highlighted the convenience of the area from the UK and said: “Corvera airport is now open and Alicante is only one hour away, so it really has never been easier to get to and from the area.” That ensures there’s a good mix of both full- and part-time residents.”
Sophie Rodriguez said: “One-bedroom apartments start from £48,863 (€58,500) and villas from £108,584 (€130,000), and the area has both resale and new build options available.”
As we move a bit southern, the price may become a little lower.
Elliot Russell, another local agent told the website: “Starting prices for apartments can be as low at £33,409 (€40,000) or £41,000 (€50,000) across the region.
“For a three-bedroom villa inland, in towns such as Fortuna and Calasparra, you can start from just over £83,400 (€100,000).
“If you’re looking for a holiday home by the coast, towns such as San Pedro Del Pinatar, Mazarron and Los Alcazares are some fantastic places to start, all have fun things to do for all ages, such as water sports, golf, beautiful beaches and some of the best seafood restaurants on the coast.”
