South Korean actress Park Ji-ah, known for her role as Song Hye-kyo’s (Mong Dong-eun) mother in the hit Netflix drama series “The Glory,” has passed away. She was 52.
Her agency, Billions, confirmed that she died on September 30 due to cerebral infarction, a cerebrovascular disease that occurs when blood flow to the part of the brain is blocked or reduced.
“Park Ji Ah passed away today at 2:50 am at the age of 52 after suffering an ischemic stroke,” they announced.
The agency also disclosed that her wake is being held at the Asan Medical Center, while the funeral procession will take place on October 2 at 10 AM KST.
“Billions will forever remember the passion the deceased had, as she loved acting right until the end. Once again, we express our deepest condolences to the deceased, and may she rest in peace.”
Aside from “The Glory,” Park Ji-ah also appeared in several K-drama series and films, including “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum,” “Epitaph,” “Judge vs. Judge,” “Strong Girl Nam-soon,” and “Bloody Heart.”
