THE trust ratings of Vice President Sara Duterte and House Speaker Martin Romualdez have seen a significant decline based on the survey conducted by Pulse Asia Research Inc.
In a survey conducted by the poll body from November 26 to December 3, 2024, Duterte’s trust rating went down to 49 percent from 61 percent in September.
Romualdez’s trust rating dipped by 10 percentage points from 41 percent in September to 31 percent.
Duterte’s approval rating also went down to 50 percent from 60 percent two months ago, while her disapproval rating climbed by eleven percentage points.
Romualdez’s disapproval rating rose by eight percentage points.
The approval of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. also had a minimal decrease at 48 percent from 50 percent in September.
His trust ratings also went down from 50 to 47 percent while disapproval rating stood at 25 percent, four percent higher than in the previous survey.
The chief executive’s distrust rating went five percent higher at 27 percent.
The survey was conducted amid the ongoing investigation of the House of Representatives on the alleged misuse of public funds by Duterte’s office and the Department of Education from July 2022 until August 2024 when she served as the agency’s secretary.
Based on the survey, the respondents believed that controlling inflation, increasing workers’ pay, and reducing poverty were the three most urgent issues of the country.
The Marcos administration was rated -80 percent in controlling inflation, -37 in addressing poverty, -29 in fighting graft and corruption, -26 in increasing worker’s pay, -16 in reducing the problem of involuntary hunger, and -14 in creating more jobs.
The administration’s top three net approval scores came from protecting the welfare of overseas Filipino workers at +51, responding to the needs of areas affected by calamities at +47, and defending the integrity of Philippine territory against foreigners at +34. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
