Robi Domingo became emotional as he marked his 35th birthday on September 27, sharing his birthday wish in a heartwarming social media post. In a two-part video, the actor-host admitted experiencing birthday blues.
“I’m having some birthday blues. Some people say it’s time na nararamdaman mo nang ‘Okay tumatanda ka na’ [Some people say it’s time that you feel like ‘Okay you’re getting old’], but also, it’s a time na pwede kang mag-reflect sa buhay mo [It’s a time when you can reflect on your life], and that’s what am I gonna do right now,” he said.
Robi shared that his plan in the next five years is to become a better “house-band” and husband. He also expressed his desire to have a child with his wife Maiqui Pineda next year if her condition permits.
“Hopefully next year, when the Lord permits it and when her condition permits it, depende sa clearance ng doctors [depending on the clearance of the doctors], I hope to introduce you to a baby Robi as well or baby Maiqui or why not twins, him her.”
He got teary-eyed giving a sweet message to their future child, emphasizing he’s so ready to give his love. Robi went on by recalling the plans they had and reiterated that 2023 was a tough year due to Maiqui’s diagnosis of dermatomyositis, an autoimmune disease.
“Last year was really a blow sa puso ko [in my heart] and questioned me ‘Ano ba ang nangyayari. Ano bang mangyayari?’ [What is happening? What will happen?], especially with Maiqui,” he added.
In the second part of his video, he revealed that he’s ready to become a father this year, “Nakaka-kasa na ako na [I’m ready] by this year, actually by this month, sana mayroon na akong anak di ba? [I wish I had a child, right?] And it happened. It’s hard.”
“Maybe it’s not time yet, not yet. But I am hoping na mangyari yun [But I am hoping it will happen].”
Robi grew more emotional and stated that his birthday wish was for Maiqui’s recovery, “First things first, I want Maiqui’s sickness to be gone so we can go back to our original plan. It’s my wish for my birthday, it’s not for me anymore.”
In August 2023, Maiqui opened up about her health condition, which includes symptoms, such as muscle weakness, inflammation, and skin rashes. The couple got engaged in November 2022 and tied the knot in January 2024.
