The drama war series “Pulang Araw” has earned a nomination for Best Soap/Telenovela at the 2024 Venice TV Award!
GMA Network shared the good news, marking a significant milestone for the television series as the sole Philippine representative in this year’s list of nominees in various categories.
Among the nominees were “Cacau” (Brazil), “Vai na Fé” (Brazil), “Lady of Tides” (Portugal), and “Golden Boy” (Turkey), with “Lady of Tides” winning the award. The Venice TV Award recognizes exceptional achievements in the global television industry.
“Pulang Araw” follows the lives of four childhood friends during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines in World War II. It stars Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, David Licauco, Alden Richards Dennis Trillo, Rochelle Pangilinan, Epy Quizon, Angelu de Leon, among others.
Given the series’ popularity and critical acclaim, the nomination of “Pulang Araw” for the Venice TV Award is indeed an accomplishment for the Philippine television.
