Nagpalitan ng paratang ang panig ng Philippine National Police at ng Kingdom of Jesus Christ hinggil sa paglusob ng mga pulis noong madaling araw ng August 24 at ilang araw nang pananatili ng mga ito sa compound sa Buhangin.
Kabilang sa mga naungkat ay ang pagbibitbit ng armas ng mga pulis, na taliwas sa mga naunang pahayag na walang baril ang mga sumama sa operasyon.
