Celebrating four decades of bringing convenience to every Filipino neighborhood
Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC), the exclusive licensee of 7-Eleven in the Philippines, has reached a remarkable milestone with the opening of its 4000th store in Newport District, Pasay City, celebrating 40 years of serving Filipinos with convenience and reliability. From its modest beginnings to becoming a nationwide staple, PSC continues to be a trusted companion for daily needs.
The journey began on February 29, 1984, with the first 7-Eleven store opening at the corner of EDSA and Kamias Road in Metro Manila. Its vibrant orange, green, and red storefront quickly captured the attention of passersby, and soon the phrase “Tara, 7-Eleven tayo!” became synonymous with a quick stop for snacks or refreshments. What started as a small outlet blossomed into an essential part of Filipino life.
Fast forward to 2024, and PSC now operates 4000 stores across the country, remaining true to its mission of being “the neighbor you can count on.” These words, first spoken by the late Mr. Vicente T. Paterno, PSC’s founder, continue to resonate today.
Mr. Jose Victor Paterno, President and CEO, proudly carries on his father’s legacy. “Celebrating 40 years in the Philippines and opening our 4000th store is a major accomplishment for us. It reflects our ongoing commitment to providing convenience and quality service to our communities. We’re excited about the future and eager to keep serving Filipinos,” he said. His leadership has been instrumental in guiding the company’s impressive growth.
Co-founder and Chairman of the Board, Mr. Jose T. Pardo, also lauded the achievement: “Reaching 4000 stores is a significant testament to the loyalty and trust of our customers. It’s also a recognition of our team’s dedication over the years. We’re proud to continue being an integral part of Filipino life.”
In celebration of this milestone, PSC has launched a year-long campaign titled “Forty-gether kasama ang paborito mong kapitbahay,” reflecting the brand’s evolution from a single store to a nationwide presence, while emphasizing its role as a beloved neighborhood companion.
Alongside the 4000th store in Newport, PSC is also celebrating the opening of another new store in Angeles City, Pampanga, on October 15. This branch will showcase PSC’s 21 To Go chicken and Café Reserve brands, along with enhanced dining spaces and eco-friendly features. The store will utilize solar panels as part of PSC’s commitment to sustainability and environmentally conscious practices.
As 7-Eleven marks its 40th anniversary, it acknowledges the countless connections and memories created at its stores. From Slurpee runs to satisfying late-night cravings, 7-Eleven remains a trusted friend and reliable neighbor in every Filipino’s day-to-day life, offering both convenience and a sense of community.
