South Korean actors Park Bo-young and Choi Woo-shik will portray the roles of a film critic and film director with a budding romance in the new K-drama “Melo Movie,” which is set to be released on February 14.
Park and Choi’s upcoming drama was announced by a Korean streaming platform in a press statement earlier this month. Also part of the series are Lee Jun-young and Jeon So-nee.
The upcoming K-drama tells the budding love story of Ko Gyeom (Choi) and Kim Moo-bi (Park) who bond over their mutual love for film. With Kim’s passion for movies, she hopes to establish herself in the film industry despite her love-hate relationship with her father, as the latter always prioritized his career over his family.
A glimpse of the “Melo Movie’s” storyline was revealed in a teaser trailer which showed Ko Gyeom leaving Moo-bi behind amid their budding romance. They ended up reconnecting years later as Moo-bi is basking in her success as a film director.
The K-drama is directed by Oh Choong-hwan of “Hotel del Luna” and “Start-Up” fame, while the storyline is written by Lee Na-eun who is best known for being the screenwriter of “Our Beloved Summer.”

Park started her acting career in middle school where she starred in the short film “Equal” in 2005. The short film bagged the Challenging Reality Award at the seventh Seoul International Youth Film Festival.
She has since appeared in a variety of dramas and films including “Oh My Ghost,” “Strong Girl Bong-soon,” “Doom at Your Service,” “Concrete Utopia,” “Daily Dose of Sunshine,” and “Light Shop.”
Meanwhile, Choi is best known for his lead roles in the film “Parasite,” as well as the dramas “Our Beloved Summer” and “A Killer Paradox.”
