Legacy carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) once again made it to the top 10 list of the most punctual airlines in the Asia-Pacific region for 2024 compiled by aviation analytics company Cirium.
Now ranked as the 7th most punctual airline, advancing one notch from its 8th ranking in the 2023 edition, PAL was the only Philippine carrier to be awarded a top 10 ranking among Asia-Pacific’s “Top Airline Performers.”
According to the 2024 Cirium On-Time Performance Report, PAL achieved an on-time arrival performance of 76.06 percent, covering over 112,000 flights across the Philippine flag carrier’s global network.
For the month of January 2024 in particular, PAL clinched the No. 1 Most Punctual Airline spot with an on-time performance of 86.85 percent.
“We greatly appreciate the recognition for the monumental efforts of our employees, service partners and industry stakeholders in achieving this on-time performance milestone, which affirms the long-term investments we are making in enhancing reliability and efficiency in all our operations, and always at the highest level of safety in line with Philippine Airlines’ uncompromising safety culture,” said PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng.
The seventh-place ranking puts PAL ahead of most Southeast Asian, Chinese, Korean and Australian carriers. Airlines from Japan, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Australia rounded out the top 10 list for 2024.
London-based Cirium has been tracking the on-time performance of airlines and airports around the world for more than 16 years to produce the longest-standing punctuality analysis in global aviation.
