The political overtones of the recent statements of VP Sara Duterte and PBMM are loaded with irony and insincerity that could have been better left unsaid, as they do not in any way help alleviate the lives of the more than 30 million voters who unbelievably believed in these two political stalwarts of the now “dis-UNITEAM”.
It is just my hope that the more than 30 million voters of the dis-UNITEAM listened to what was not said by these two highest officials of the land, because what they have left unspoken was where the real message could be deduced.

Vice President Sara Duterte’s recent controversies have left many Filipinos scratching their heads. It’s like devouring a bag of Piattos, only to realize the flavor’s gone flat.
First, we have the issue of cash envelopes handed out to DepEd officials, allegedly under VP Duterte’s orders. Because, you know, who needs transparency when you can just hand out cash? It’s like Nova’s marketing strategy gone wrong – instead of selling chips, they’re selling influence. Did they at least get a discount on the envelopes?
And then there’s VP Duterte’s inspiring message to Philippine Science High School graduates: serve the country . Noble, yes, but also a bit rich coming from someone embroiled in controversy. It’s like Oishi’s crunchy snack packaging – looks good outside, but what’s inside matters more. Empty calories anyone?

Our current politics suffers from the diarrhea of idiocy as evidenced by the following truisms:
1. Cash Over Transparency: Envelopes instead of explanations.
2. Inspiration vs. Action: Words are cheap; genuine leadership is rare.
3. Lack of Accountability: Too many accounts; devoid of the ability to take responsibility.
4. Selective Justice: One rule for allies, another for critics.

Pampanga’s political landscape has undergone significant transformations over the years, but the question remains: where is it headed? The province’s rich cultural heritage and resilient people deserve effective governance, yet concerns persist about the quality of leadership and its impact on education, culture, and economic development.
The entrenched political dynasties in Pampanga can still undoubtedly lead to widespread vote-buying that could undermine the democratic process and limit the opportunities for genuine and transformational leadership.
Think about this Capampangan maxim: NUNG NINU RING MANUNGCULAN NGENING CASALUCUYAN, PASARI NA NGAN ITI NING CAMULALAN QUING MILABASAN.

Capampangans are known to have an impeccable taste for food, but what about for their choice of political leaders? Do the choices of the Capampangans on their political leaders wisely address the need of the province for a strong and a more decentralized leadership? Do the current political leaders of Pampanga empower local governments and communities to take ownership of the development initiatives in their respective localities?
On cultural revitalization, political leaders in the province should give more priority and allocate more funding on this essential component of what an enlightened province should be all about, so that Holy Angel University will not be left alone doing this very important mission that is really worth investing on. Integrating Capampangan language and history into the education curricula and promoting cultural preservation should be part of the political agenda of the provincial government and should challenge the DepEd Regional and Division Offices to be involved in this noble task.
Economic empowerment by way of investing in infrastructure, sustainable small-scale entrepreneurship, and human capital development that is both pragmatic and realistic should also be understood and be part of the platform and program of all the political leaders of the province of Pampanga.
Pilasan tamu ing quecatamung panga-Capampangan, uling, ing tutu na nian, “atin tamung taste”!
