Autopsy results are expected as soon as tomorrow following the discovery of a woman’s body inside a fifth-floor unit at a luxury apartment building in Boston’s South End.
Sources told Boston 25 News that the case is being treated as a homicide due to ‘circumstances that have not yet been made public’.
No one was in custody and no person of interest had been publicly identified as of Sunday night.
Neighbors at The Harris South End received emails about the death but have not heard any follow-up information.
“I watch a lot of true crime shows. I do wonder if it could be some sort of homicide, some sort of planned thing,” said neighbor Jawad Husain.
Boston 25 News briefly spoke with a woman who identified herself as a relative of the woman whose body was found.
She declined to comment on the investigation and understandably requested privacy.
Boston Police responded to a well-being check at 390 Harrison Avenue on Thursday night around 7 p.m. after receiving a call from the woman’s relative.
A police report said officers knocked on the door and then entered the unit after hearing no answer.
“If there were any measures, I could take that would help make me more personally secure, it would be good to know,” said another neighbor.
The apartment building has an array of security cameras, is staffed with 24/7 concierge, and uses key fobs for its elevator and to get into rooms.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
