The cast of Mula sa Buwan announced during the September 6, 2024, curtain call that the musical will have a limited extension.

There will be two additional shows on September 14, 2024, at 2 PM and 7:30 PM.

These shows will be the last opportunity for LaBuwans to catch the definitive version of Mula sa Buwan. One of the creators, Pat Valera, revealed that the show will not return to the stage in the near future.

Myke Salomon, Gab Pangilinan, MC Dela Cruz, Phi Palmos, and Jillian Ita-as will also take their final bows as Cyrano, Roxane, Christian, Maximo, Rosanna, and Gabriel.

According to Pangilinan, “Mula sa Buwan was a dream come true. It was the first original Filipino musical that gave me a chance to be a lead. Roxane was my first big Filipina role. I have grown so much as an artist and person through Roxane and this musical. It’s opened doors for me and allowed little girls to dream bigger—of the kind of woman and artist they want to be.”

Dela Cruz also counts Mula sa Buwan as the show that started his journey as a theatre actor. He said, “Mula sa Buwan is actually home for me kasi dito nagsimula ang journey ko as a theatre actor. ‘Yung tipong kahit anong shows na ang nagawa ko, Mula sa Buwan pa rin ‘yung uuwian ko.

Palmos, meanwhile, calls their run on the show a milestone. They said, “Mula sa Buwan will always be that show that a role traditionally played by a woman was given to a queer person, and it made perfect sense. And I am so happy and proud that I found the courage to ask Pat to audition for the role of Rosanna when on paper, it can’t happen. Opportunities for the LGBTQIA+ community were pushed further and widened. A glass ceiling was shattered. Mula sa Buwan is one prime example of LGBTQIA+ representation.”

Ita-as turns nostalgic when asked what she will miss from the show. According to her, “It’s really the people. I don’t use the word ‘family’ lightly, but honestly, everyone in Mula sa Buwan, whether it’s the 2022 or 2024 run, has always been like family to me. Para kaming mga classmate na buong school year magkasama. That’s how deeply I feel for each and every one of them, and it’s the people and their company that I will miss the most.

As the musical prepares for its final shows, Salomon has a message for its fans, who are called LaBuwans: “Sana ay nakaukit na sa buhay ninyo ang liwanag ng Mula sa Buwan. Maaring balikan, maaring itahan, pero alam nating lahat na ito’y nakatupi sa loob ng ating puso, kupas man ang mga letra kahit may patak ng dugo at luha.”

You may buy tickets to the final two shows on Ticketworld or bit.ly/msb2024tickets. The show must close on September 14, 2024.
