Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna sent help for the residents of Naga City which is among the areas hardest-hit by severe tropical storm Kristine.
It was learned that based on the mayor’s orders, a 14-man rescue team was dispatched at around 6 p.m. on Thursday.
The team is composed of personnel from the Manila District Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) headed by Arnel Angeles and will deliver mobile water filtration system, two “Ondoy” rescue boats with outboard motor, two rescue trucks and a transporter truck.
Lacuna and MDRRMO directly coordinated with officials from Naga City in connection with the delivery of such assistance.
“Help is coming. Mag-ingat kayo,” Lacuna said.
Meanwhile, Lacuna assured the residents of Manila that the help sent by the Manila local government to Naga City will not in any way lessen or decrease Manila’s preparedness, adding that it will remain to have sufficient capabilities to respond to any situation which may result from the continous downpour.
