Robertson produced 14 goals and 13 assists in 56 games last season with the Maple Leafs.
The 22-year-old reportedly requested a trade out of Toronto this summer, leading to a contract holdout.
The Maple Leafs drafted Robertson in the second round, 53rd overall, of the 2019 NHL draft. The Pasadena, Calif., product’s entry-level contract expired at the end of last season.
Robertson has 17 goals and 17 assists in 87 career NHL games, splitting time with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies the past four seasons.
He’ll enter training camp with an opportunity to earn a bigger role under head coach Craig Berube after winger Tyler Bertuzzi left the Maple Leafs to join Chicago during the off-season.
Barrie joins Flames on pro tryout
Veteran defenceman Tyson Barrie will attend the Calgary Flames training camp on a professional tryout, the team announced.
Barrie had one goal and 15 points in 41 games with the Nashville Predators last season.
The 33-year-old offensive defenceman from Victoria produced 55 points (13 goals, 42 assists) in 75 games split between the Predators and Edmonton Oilers in 2022-23.
His three-year, $13.5-million US contract expired after last season.
The Flames also announced they’ve signed blueliner Jarred Tinordi to a one-year, two-way contract worth $800,000.
The 32-year-old Tinordi had nine points and 64 penalty minutes in 52 games with Chicago last season.
Kraken commit 4 years to Larsson
The Seattle Kraken and veteran defenseman Adam Larsson reached an agreement Tuesday on a four-year extension that will keep one of their top blue liners under contract through the 2028-29 season.
Larsson’s extension is worth an average of $5.25 million US per season and retains one of Seattle’s selections from the 2021 expansion draft for the long term.
The 31-year-old from Sweden has played in 245 of a possible 246 regular-season games during his first three seasons with the Kraken. Most of that time, he’s been part of the top defensive pair for Seattle alongside Vince Dunn, regularly drawing the toughest defensive assignments against the best forwards in the league.
Larsson’s best season with Seattle came in 2022-23, when he had a career-high 33 points including eight goals. Larsson served as an assistant captain the past two seasons and could be a candidate to be the permanent captain if new head coach Dan Bylsma opts to have one in his first season.
Larsson started his NHL career with five seasons in New Jersey before being traded to Edmonton ahead of the 2016-17 season. He spent five seasons with the Oilers but was exposed in the expansion draft when Seattle joined the league and the Kraken quickly grabbed the right-shot veteran for their blue line.
