The city, through the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) headed by Re Fugoso, was recently given recognition during the DSWD Social Technology Expo Awards Night held at the Park In by Radisson Hotel on December 18, 2024.
This year theme, “Empowerment Evolution: Unleashing Potential Through Innovation”, recognized the invaluable contributions of every stakeholder in the nationwide implementation of the DSWD’s development programs such as Tara! Basa Tutoring Program, Walang Gutom Program and Pag- Abot Program.
Lacuna thanked the DSWD for the recognition which she said is reflective of the city’s commitment to innovation and dedication to uplifting the lives of its citizens.
“Thank you to the DSWD, our director Re Fugoso and the men and women behind the MDSW who have been working tirelessly to make this recognition possible. Together, we continue to inspire progress and empowerment for a brighter future of the City of Manila,” Lacuna said.
For her part, Fugoso said the recognition will serve as an inspiration for all of them at the MDSW to continue doing their best in the service of Manila residents who need their services.
Fugoso also commended Lacuna for her unwavering support and genuine concern for the residents of Manila, making sure that they benefit from the help being extended whenever needed, specially in times of calamities.
