DECEMBER 23, 2024– Friends of the Fort – Lebanon, Missouri’s annual Rock the Block event for Soldiers in Training at U.S. Army Fort Leonard Wood during Holiday Block Leave.
AUSA was invited to be a part of the event and able to celebrate two local Soldiers for Life with an award ceremony at the start of the day. During the ceremony, former SGT James Morgan and his brother Specialist 5 Leo Morgan were presented long overdue awards for their service. Both were presented Department of the Army Good Conduct Medals and Leo was presented his Korea Defense Service Medal. These awards were presented by the Deputy Commanding General of Fort Leonard Wood, BG Bradley Leonard and assisted by Jarred Carr, Mayor of the City of Lebanon.
In the audience were Soldiers and Airmen from FLW who were enjoying the day’s activities.
It was a fitting presentation that we could present these awards to these Veterans who left Service over 50 years ago in front of Soldiers that are just starting their training for the services and one day will be called veterans themselves.
