Wednesday, October 2, is the second day of filing of certificates of candidacy for Eleksyon 2025.
The filing of COCs started on October 1 and will end on Tuesday, October 8.
Party-list groups seeking a seat in Congress will also need to submit their Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) during the same period, October 1 to 8.
A total of 18,280 elective posts will be up for grabs in Eleksyon 2025, with breakdown as follows:
- Senators — 12
- Party-list representatives — 63
- Member, House of Representatives — 254
- Governor — 82
- Vice-governor — 82
- Member, Sangguniang Panlalawigan — 800
- City mayor — 149
- City vice-mayor — 149
- Member, Sangguniang Panlungsod — 1,690
- Municipal Mayor — 1,493
- Municipal Vice-Mayor — 1,493
- Member, Sangguniang Bayan — 11,948
- BARMM, Members of the Parliament — 25
- BARMM, Party Representatives — 40
No untoward incidents were monitored during the first day of the filing of COCs for aspiring senators and party-list representatives, Comelec chairman George Garcia said Tuesday.
A total of 3,259 aspirants filed their COCs on Day 1, the Comelec said.
