Prince William and US President-elect Donald Trump are both on the star-studded guest list for the reopening of the iconic Notre Dame cathedral in Paris.
The famous French landmark was badly damaged in a 2019 fire and has undergone extensive works worth around £700million over the past half a decade to restore it.
The Prince of Wales will be joined by Donald Trump and dozens of world leaders at the event after being invited by embattled French president Emmanuel Macron.
The reopening is set to include the ritualised opening of the cathedral’s massive doors, the reawakening of its thunderous organ and the celebration of the first Mass.
On Saturday evening, Archbishop Laurent Ulrich will lead more than 1,500 guests through a reopening service. Part two, on Sunday, is an inaugural Mass, with special rites to consecrate the main altar.
