Is Alice Guo running for mayor again? The former mayor of Bamban, Tarlac will reportedly try to reclaim her seat in the 2025 elections. This was confirmed by Alice Guo’s lawyer Stephen David on Wednesday, October 3.

“She will run,” Stephen David told TV5, as Alice Guo plans to file her certificate of candidacy (COC) for the 2025 polls, with their legal team preparing the required documents. In addition, the lawyer said, “Why don’t we let the people decide kung gusto siya ng tao (if they want her)?”

Reports also say that Alice Guo may file her COC through a representative based on Commission on Elections (Comelec) rules, despite being detained over various charges.
In August, the ombudsman dismissed Alice Guo from service for discretion over the Philippine offshore gaming operator or POGO hub operations in Tarlac. While the decision means Alice Guo may be permanently banned from holding government positions, she can still challenge it in court. As of writing, it is not yet official and final.
