GCash, the Philippines’ leader in digital financial services, has unveiled groundbreaking innovations at this year’s GCash Futurecast, revolutionizing the country’s fintech landscape and elevating the consumer experience.

GCash Futurecast 2024 introduced Online PaySafe, a new security feature for worry-free online transactions. This feature directs customers to the GCash app during the payment process, utilizing multi-factor authentication to enhance security by reducing the risk of account takeovers, payment scams, and website spoofing.

GCash also launched Gigi, an AI-powered assistant that handles common queries, escalates complex issues, conducts security checks, accesses past conversations, and connects users to live agents when needed.

In partnership with Chubb, GCash introduced Send Money Protect, allowing users to insure transactions up to PHP 15,000 for 30 days for as low as PHP 30, covering potential scams.

Design Innovations

GCash unveiled three new app designs for a more intuitive experience. Dashboard 3.0 offers a refreshed look with easy navigation, allowing users to access their favorite GCash products at a glance. The new save, borrow, and grow tabs help users view their most-used features easily.

The revamped GCat & Friends, your new money-smart besties, make money management more fun and educational. GCat is joined by Corey G, who finds hot deals, and GRaf, who reminds customers to save and invest.

Money Manager, a real-time spend tracker, helps customers visualize spending and manage their finances wisely.

AI-Powered Experiences

GCash introduced GScore AI, an AI-powered customer trust score that assesses creditworthiness and loan eligibility based on app behavior, eliminating the need for forms or additional documents.

Hyper-Personalized Ads, powered by AI, learns users’ shopping preferences and matches them with personalized offers from GCash partners, acting like a personal shopping assistant.

GCoach AI, using generative AI, guides users on spending, saving, and growing their money, providing personalized insights and linking users to auto-deposit features within the app.

Green Innovations

GImpact, part of GCash’s commitment to climate action, allows users to see how their transactions contribute to carbon reduction, converting reduced emissions into Green Points for planting real trees through GForest’s partner NGOs.

GFarm, a new category for planting fruit-bearing trees, supports Filipino farmers by providing them with seedlings like coffee, avocado, and jackfruit, creating a sustainable livelihood for their communities.

Fintech for a New Generation

GCash launched GCash Jr. with Parental Controls for kids aged 7 to 17, offering their first e-wallet and debit card. Parents can set wallet limits, oversee purchases, and provide allowances. GSave Jr. encourages kids to manage their savings accounts, set money goals, and develop better saving habits.

Global Expansion

In 2024, GCash will expand to 16 countries, including the USA, Canada, Italy, the UK, Australia, Japan, Spain, UAE, South Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Hong Kong, Qatar, Singapore, KSA, and Kuwait, reaching 10 million overseas Filipinos. International Bank Cash-In allows users to cash in to GCash from over 12,000 US banks, with Europe soon to follow.

GTravel enables booking and payment for flights and hotels within the app, streamlining international travel. It also offers travel insurance and instant lounge access for flight delays through partnerships with Standard, Malayan, and OONA Insurance. Additionally, travelers to European destinations can digitize and claim travel tax refunds with GCash.

The GCash Tourist product allows foreigners visiting the Philippines to use GCash features like Scan to Pay and Send Money for 30 days.

New Ways to Borrow and Pay

Borrow on the Spot, powered by Fuse, GCash’s lending arm, allows users to instantly reassess their creditworthiness and get higher credit limits via GGives, making financial support more accessible.

For a faster commute, Tap to Pay, powered by NFC, enables seamless payments by simply tapping a phone on a turnstile. Watch Pay, in partnership with Huawei, allows payments via smartwatches, making GCash the first to offer this method in the country.
