For context, the UEFA European Football Championship is currently underway, and on Sunday evening, England played against Slovakia to secure a spot in the championship’s quarter-finals.

While Glastonbury has screened sporting events at the festival in previous years, organizers confirmed back in May that they would not be doing the same this time around. This is because the game clashed with acts performing on the main stage, and they didn’t want to draw crowds away from the performers.

A statement on their website reads: “With England and Scotland’s Last 16 matches potentially clashing with headline sets at this year’s Festival, the decision has been made that – as in 2014 and 2016 – should England or Scotland qualify from their groups, their Last 16 matches will not be shown at the Festival.”

Sunday’s game started at 5 p.m. UK time, which clashed with the end of Shania Twain’s set on the Pyramid stage, and the entirety of Janelle Monáe’s. On another stage, Nothing but Thieves, and Avril Lavigne performed during the match.
