Junior doctorsPM is offered “final chance” to avoid strikeThe co-chairs of the BMA’s Junior Doctors Committee in England wrote to the prime minister, Rishi Sunak, urging him to take a “final chance” to avert upcoming planned strikes. Junior doctors are due to stage a five day walkout from 7 am on 27 June to 7 am on 2 July, ahead of the UK general election on 4 July. In their 19 June letter Robert Laurenson and Vivek Trivedi urged Sunak to make a written commitment to a “detailed pathway” to pay restoration that could be implemented if he forms the next government.
