A man armed with a knife has reportedly barricaded himself inside a building in a German city and threatened to blow it up.
The incident is unfolding in Schaferstrasse, the Eimsbettel area of Hamburg, Germany, according to local media outlet Bild.
Emergency services have been deployed to the scene in large numbers, with ambulances, fire brigades and special police units all attending.
The street has been cordoned off over a wide area with a safety barrier set up in front of the building in case the man tries o jump out of a window.
Relatives of the man reported that he was in a state of psychological emergency to the police, according to Bild.
