Senior officers at the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) have called on President Sarah Clarke to resign, after over 80 members expressed a lack of confidence in the college’s leadership because of inaction on physician associates (PAs).1

The letter, signed by five of the six senior RCP officers, recognised Clarke’s “hard work to try and deal with the challenging matters that have faced the college,” but said that they are “increasingly concerned that she has lost the confidence” of the membership.
