LOOK: These Gourmet Resto Dishes Are Made With a Well-Loved Brand Available in the Grocery

When we think of gourmet dishes from restaurants, we think of ingredients made from scratch or only available in specialty shops at high prices. It makes sense that even high-end restaurants shop in groceries, but we forget that when we see those fancy dishes with hard-to-pronounce names.

Chef Francis Tolentino of Studio 28 and Loft Cafe by Unit 27 proved that you can create five-star gourmet dishes using ingredients found in the grocery. He recently curated a special menu called Highlands Gourmet Creations, which features premium comfort food from Highlands Gold.

These include the Highlands Gold Corned Beef, Highlands Gold Beef Patties, and the Highlands Gold Beef Franks. These products are made with Angus beef, which elevates the overall food experience with its juiciness and flavor.

The Highlands Gourmet Creations are available for everyone to try. Just visit Studio 28 and Loft Cafe by Unit 27 from May 29 to June 29, 2024, at Bonifacio Global City to order.

Chef Francis had an intimate food-tasting event with his close friends, where they got to try these dishes. Here’s what you can order:

Beef Burger and Cheese Taco

The Beef Burger and Cheese Taco is made with the ground version of the Highlands Gold Beef Patties. The ground patties are juicy and flavorful, with a hint of spice that gives that unique taco taste. Chef Francis balanced the flavor with the lightness of the pineapple relish. These two flavors complemented each other well. Chef Francis also toasted the edges of the tortilla for added texture.

Beef Franks and Potato Pave

As the name suggests, this dish features Highlands Gold Beef Franks. Interestingly, Chef Francis served the franks in two ways: sliced and mashed. This dual way of serving makes the flavor consistent, as you get a peppery taste in every bite. We enjoyed the sliced franks, as they had a deliciously beefy taste. The savory taste of the Highlands Gold Beef Franks completed the creamy flavor of the potato pave.

Beef Burger in Ginger Basil Foam

This dish uses the Highlands Gold Beef Patties, which tasted smoky and beefy. We were also surprised at how thick the patty was. It’s definitely worth getting for the heft alone. The refreshing taste of the cucumber and basil complemented the flavor of the patty.

Corned Beef in Truffle Pasta

Who would have thought that you could add corned beef to meatballs? Serving the corned beef this way was an innovative touch. The meatballs were definitely the highlight of the dish, as they still kept the flavor and juiciness of the Highlands Gold Corned Beef and Highlands Gold Beef Patties. This dish’s truffle sauce is decadent and delicious, but we have to warn you: this can be filling.

Overall, Chef Francis curated a menu that’s delicious and filling. The biggest surprise for us was turning Highlands Gold Corned Beef into meatballs. This dish and the Beef Burger in Ginger Basil Foam were our favorites.

These dishes are available for a limited time, from May 29 to June 29, 2024, so make sure to visit soon. We’ll definitely be back for more, but while we’re at home, we will try to recreate these dishes or test our creativity by curating our own Highlands Gold dishes.
