“Although I already announced it after the oath-taking, yung aking gusto kong ipaabot sa board at maapurubahan itong isang linggong serbisyo,” said the singer-turned-politician at a public briefing on Friday.

(Although I already announced it after the oath-taking, what I want to deliver to the board and be approved is implementing the seven-day-a-week service.)

Papin said this is to expand the agency’s medical assistance to more people.

“Ano po, ang ibig ko po sabihin dito, since ang ating trabaho ay magmula Lunes hanggang Biyernes, dadagdagan natin ng Sabado hanggang Linggo yung po ang ating gagawin. So parang walang tulugan, talagang trabaho ang gagawin natin,” she cleared.

(What I mean is, since our work is from Monday to Friday, we will increase what we will do from Saturday to Sunday. So it’s like no sleep, we’re really going to do work.)

Papin said that she already mentioned this to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. after her oath-taking ceremony last Tuesday.

She said Marcos was delighted and agreed to her idea.

“We’ll see to it that we’ll be going around the Philippines at talagang aalamin natin, siguro makakatulong ako ng malaki. Dahil, siyempre, I’ve been serving my province for the past nine years,” she said.

(We’ll see to it that we’ll be going around the Philippines and we’ll really find out, maybe I can help a lot. Because, of course, I’ve been serving my province for the past nine years.)

“We’ll see to it that we have to act fast and reach out to so many recipients as possible. Our focus will be on health, because health is wealth” she added.

With this, Papin is eyeing more health-related programs including caravans and medical missions. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
