Filipino indie-folk collective Munimuni is gearing up to celebrate the release of their highly anticipated second full-length album, Alegorya, with a major concert set to take place on July 20, 2024 (Saturday) at the prestigious UP Theater.

Dubbed ALEGORYA: A Munimuni Concert, this event promises to be an immersive audio-visual experience for the senses. The concert takes its name from the band’s latest release, which they describe as a collection of songs embodying a myriad of emotions and thoughts that don’t typically coalesce within a single album.

Regarded as an era-defining milestone by the critically acclaimed band, this concert will feature live performances infused with a chamber setup and intricate storytelling. Munimuni has meticulously curated the order of their songs, intending to craft a memorable journey for their fans.

“In terms of audience size and setlist length, this is our biggest concert yet,” Munimuni reveals in a statement. “Creatively, we aim to create an experience that mirrors the album’s inherent complexity.”

ALEGORYA: A Munimuni Concert marks the band’s third major concert, following their self-titled concert at the Music Museum in 2018 and Kulayan Natin at Cine Adarna, UP Film Center in 2019. The concert seeks to blend the intimacy and adventurous spirit of Munimuni’s music with a grander scale, focusing on the album’s overarching theme of delving deeper into the world and human existence.

“We’re thrilled to perform at the UP Theater, a venue that holds significance for us not just because of its size and prestige, but also because it feels like home,” Munimuni shares. “After all, the band originated from the UP Diliman campus. Our goal for both large and small shows remains the same—we want our songs to resonate with people and offer them hope as they navigate through life. While the goal remains consistent, this concert allows us to express it in a different manner, presenting an opportunity for growth as artists.”

ALEGORYA: A Munimuni Concert is presented by GNN Entertainment Productions and Munimuni. Tickets go on sale today at 12 noon via bit.ly/alegoryaconcert.
