This announcement coincided with the announcement of BINI as its newest brand ambassador during the recent “Shopee Summer Surprise.”

The launch of Shopee’s innovations comes at an opportune moment as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) focuses on building trust between online buyers and sellers through the E-Commerce Philippines 2024-2028 Roadmap, striving for easy yet exciting commerce.

Moreover, this period is marked by the rise of Gen Z consumers who present vast opportunities for tech companies. Shopee and Kantar’s recent study on Gen Z’s online shopping behavior revealed that the tech-savvy and value-driven young generation does a lot of research and looks for assurance of quality before they make their purchase. Considering these factors, Shopee developed new features to make shopping on their platform easier, ultimately creating more positive shopping experiences.

Introducing COD Unbox: Return on the Spot

Shopee’s recent Gen Z Shopper Study revealed that while this generation’s consumers are always searching for the best deals, they prioritize trustworthy brands and secure transactions when shopping online. In response, Shopee launched COD Unbox: Return on the Spot, where Cash-On-Delivery (COD) customers can open and inspect the items in their parcel upon delivery.

With this new feature, Shopee users can return their parcel to the delivery rider as soon as they receive it in case there are issues with their orders, such as damages, incorrect items, or missing products.

 

More Flexibility with Free & Easy Returns

With Shopee’s Return and Refund policy, buyers don’t need to contact sellers to return their orders. Through its Return/Refund feature, Shopee will handle buyers’ return and refund requests to give them more convenience.

 

In addition, Shopee has introduced Change of Mind as a new option to request to return their items.This allows customers to return products if the fit and style of the product doesn’t suit them.

 

Discount Vouchers with Shopee On-Time Delivery

Shopee has also reinforced its commitment to ensure timely deliveries of users’ orders. Through its new On-Time Delivery program, the e-commerce platform will give users a free discount voucher if their order arrives past its delivery date.

 

According to Shopee, Gen Z shoppers are shown to take their time conducting in-depth research for their purchases, with top considerations including a seamless return and refund process and fast delivery services.

 

Beyond their consumer choices, Shopee also gleaned insights into what matters most to this generation: authenticity, social connectivity, and individuality. BINI, the rising girl group in the country, holds the essence of these values, which is what led to them becoming Shopee’s newest brand ambassador and the face of Gen Z.
