The garden was designed by Giulio Giorgi as a sensory haven to bring joy, hope, and escapism through nature for children undergoing treatment for cancer, with low maintenance, resilient plants to symbolise the countries supported by World Child Cancer UK. Other gardens with a health theme included the Stroke Association’s Garden for Recovery, designed by Miria Harris as a peaceful, sensory space to support recovery, and drawing on her experience of surviving stroke.
