Sylvia and Daughter Gela Confront Tough Questions on Jeepney TV’s “Stars on Stars”

Sylvia Sanchez and Gela Atayde share an intimate conversation about their mother-daughter relationship, careers, and personal struggles in the latest episode of Jeepney TV’s hostless talk show “Stars On Stars,” now available on YouTube and Facebook.

When Sylvia asked Gela to rate her as a mother, Gela gave her a perfect score of 100%.

“100 doesn’t necessarily mean you’re perfect,” Gela explained. “It means you give what you can with what you have. You always give your best, and I see and appreciate that.”

They also discussed Gela’s inevitable entry into showbiz, having been exposed to the industry at a young age and often accompanying her mom to tapings.

Sylvia, who worked with Gela on her first TV project “Senior High,” expressed her pride in her daughter.

“I just opened the door for you to enter the industry,” Sylvia told Gela. “But once you stepped in, it was all you. And I’m so proud of you for showing that you can do it.”

Now part of another ABS-CBN series, “High Street,” Gela is determined to prove herself. Acknowledging her challenge as a “nepo baby,” she said, “We make the paths for ourselves. It’s up to us to prove to people that we’re worthy of being in the industry.”

The loving mother-daughter duo also reflected on what’s missing in their lives, particularly Sylvia’s—the chance to meet her father.

“Of all the things I’ve achieved, there’s one thing I can’t buy: a hug from my father,” Sylvia revealed. “I want to see my father, if he’s still alive. And if he’s passed away, I want to visit his grave. I want to know where he’s buried,” she added, appealing for any information about her dad.
