Equipped with the newly developed DIGIC Accelerator image processor, alongside

processing system. This system, combined with a new CMOS sensor, processes
large volumes of data at high speeds, resulting in groundbreaking advancements
in Auto Focus (AF) and other functionalities.

The integration of deep learning technology and the new image processing
system enables high-speed, high-accuracy subject recognition. For instance, in
team sports where multiple subjects intersect, the camera can continually
track the main subject even when obstructed by others. The AF “Action
Priority” function rapidly analyzes subject movement, automatically
identifying and focusing on key actions, such as a player shooting a ball, to
capture decisive moments.

In addition to AF improvements, the new system enhances image quality. Canon
has incorporated an advanced noise reduction function, previously available in
PC software, directly into the camera to further elevate image quality and
support user creativity.

Canon is conducting field tests for the EOS R1 to ensure it meets the high
standards required for capturing pivotal moments at upcoming international
sporting events.

Canon will continue to expand the EOS R SYSTEM lineup with exciting cameras
and RF lenses, aiming to meet the diverse needs of users and advance the
fields of photography and videography.
