The DOH said that it poses no objection to the bill, provided the local government of Laguna donates the land where the infrastructure will be built.

Complying with this requirement, the Provincial Government of Laguna said it will donate more or less two hectares of land where the hospital will be built.

For its part, the Department of Budget Management (DBM) said that once the bill is enacted into law, the proposed hospital’s funding requirement shall be included by the DOH in its budget proposal.

Cong. Hernandez said that the hospital aims to strengthen and expand the public healthcare system in the Southern Tagalog region. “The hospital will serve as the apex or end referral hospital not only for Laguna but for the whole CALABARZON region.”
