According to recent data from Google Trends, the Philippines now ranks third in all searches for AI-related topics across the world and #4 specifically for generative AI over the past 12 months, indicating an interest in the technology among Filipinos.

Google Trends provides data on the topics that people from a certain country or area are searching almost in real time. The data is measured by recording how many times a particular keyword is searched for compared to other terms within a certain period.

Only China and Ethiopia outrank the Philippines at #1 and #2, respectively. There are several reasons for the increased search interest around AI in the Philippines including the availability of AI tools and platforms that have made it easier for Filipinos to experiment with and learn about AI.
