VP Sara underscores mothers’ role in nation-building

In celebration of Mother’s Day, Vice President Sara Duterte on Sunday expressed gratitude for her fellow mothers’ love and sacrifices, saying that they play an important role in building stronger communities.

Calling them the “unsung heroes of our lives,” Duterte said mothers inspire everyone to make a difference every day because of their love, wisdom, and dedication, as well as their selfless sacrifices, to care for their families.

“Sa lahat ng inang nagsusumikap mapabuti ang kalagayan ng kanilang pamilya—sa loob man o sa labas ng bansa, sa sariling tahanan man o sa kani-kaniyang propesyon—hindi po masusukat ang inyong napakahalagang papel sa pagbuo ng matatag na sambayanang aakay sa atin patungo sa mas maunlad na kinabukasan,” the Vice President said.

(To all the mothers who strive to improve the lives of their families—whether inside or outside the country, whether in their own homes or in their respective professions—we could not measure your very important role in building a strong nation that will lead us to a more prosperous future.)

Duterte said she is one with all mothers in aiming that their efforts will bear fruit for the good of their children, communities, and the entire country.

“We take this moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for the selfless sacrifices they make every day to nurture and care for their families. Their love and guidance pave the way for brighter futures and stronger communities,” she added.—GMA Integrated News
