Today, the governments and citizens of Australia and New Zealand honor the sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) by laying a wreath at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. This commemorates the lives lost and the injuries sustained by Australian and New Zealanders in times of war and peace.

The arrival of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) on the western shore of Turkey’s Gallipoli Peninsula 109 years ago was a significant moment in the development of both countries’ national identities. The commemorative service also saw the presence of various members of the diplomatic corps, including the Embassy of Turkey, who conveyed messages of reconciliation. | via King Rodriguez
