For the third straight day, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) places Luzon and Visayas under yellow and red alerts.

A total of 42 units are either on forced outage or de-rated, which slashed a total capacity of 2,588 megawatts (MW) from both grids as of 8:00 this morning.

The Luzon island, including Metro Manila, will undergo a red alert status from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, a yellow alert will be raised between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.; 4:00 and 8:00 p.m.; and 10:00 and 11:00 p.m.
