W5 to provide live-fire training products to European customer

W5 Solutions, a Nordic defence group, has secured a new order to supply live-fire training products to an existing European customer.  

The company has not disclosed the name of the European military customer.  

The order is valued at approximately Skr32m ($2.92m).

It also has a Skr48m additional option which is projected to be realised next year and in 2026.

Deliveries under this order are expected to be made during the second and third quarters of 2024.  

Once delivered, the live-fire training systems provided by W5 Solutions will help in enhancing the training processes of European military customer, while also offering increased capabilities to save time as well as cost.

The company’s live-fire training product range mainly includes target systems for conducting different shooting exercises and advanced systems capable of handling hundreds of targets programmed for various scenarios. 

W5 Solutions also provides software solutions to assess training exercises and it shares results with the participants.

The live-fire exercises play a major role in training soldiers and help in replicating combat scenarios, allowing soldiers to experience and prepare in close to combat situation.  

According to W5 Solutions, the goal is to simulate the risks of live-fire situations while maintaining a safe environment for troops when learning. 

The targets offered by W5 Solutions are compatible with a wide range of calibres, from pistols to tanks, and are described as straightforward tools for effective live-fire training.  

Additionally, W5 offers range control systems that allow for control and monitoring of all target appliances on the range, with capabilities for single remote operation and full scenario building software.
