Security measures and the arrest of individuals in the north

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 02/04/2024, army units, supported by patrols from the Intelligence Directorate, implemented security measures in the north, that included conducting foot and mechanized patrols, setting up temporary checkpoints, and conducting raids on the residences of wanted individuals.

As a result of these measures, 12 citizens were arrested for committing crimes related to gunfire and security breaches. Firearms and an amount of ammunition were seized in their possession.

The seized items were handed over, and the investigation was initiated with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.
