Peter Phillips says Kate is ‘remarkable’ and makes a ‘fantastic team’ with William

King Charles III is set to return to public duties as he will attend an Easter service at the chapel at Windsor Castle with Camilla on Sunday.

The appearance will be the first major event for Charles, 75, since he was diagnosed with cancer in February.

However, the Prince and Princess of Wales are not expected to attend the event, amid Kate’s cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The news comes as a royal author said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle received a cool response from William following their text message of support in the wake of Kate’s cancer announcement.

The message, which was “engineered by the palace“ with the two brothers still estranged, reportedly had the tone of “two wary diplomats”.

According to royal expert Tom Quinn, the Sussexes contacted the Prince and Princess of Wales following the diagnosis but didn’t include any suggestion that they “should make up and let bygones be bygones”.

He added that it was “hardly the kind of warm, informal response” one may have expected.

Letters: Kate needs time and space to face her challenges

“He is right that this message by the Princess of Wales was handled brilliantly by her and the royal family and the people supporting her. She should now be left in peace to continue her treatment with her family’s support – not least the King, who knows exactly what medical page she is on, as he undergoes his cancer treatment.”

As a cancer patient, here’s my one piece of advice to Kate Middleton that could change everything…

In 2018 I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. It’s a type of cancer that has a particularly poor prognosis due to the limited range of treatments available to those afflicted, and tends to affect younger women, and Black women especially.

Receiving news like that can change your entire world. I knew it would change mine, but I was more concerned about how it would affect my daughter, Ilani. She was only six at the time – how are you supposed to tell a child that young that mummy is very, very sick?

‘Inevitable reduction in royal engagements’ after Kate shares cancer diagnosis

There will be an “inevitable” reduction in royal engagements after the Princess of Wales joined the King in sharing her cancer diagnosis, an expert on the monarchy has said.

The managing editor of Majesty magazine Joe Little said it was a “significant moment for the monarchy” that two senior figures should be out of action, adding that Kate’s announcement on Friday evening was a “great shock” to many people.

He said the Queen’s profile had “come to the fore” in recent weeks because she has had to attend more engagements alone.

Kate Middleton conspiracy theories ‘fuelled by China, Russia and Iran’

The government is reportedly concerned that Britain’s adversaries are deliberately fuelling disinformation about the Princess of Wales to “destabilise the nation”.

However, unfounded conspiracies have continued to circulate about both the truthfulness of the princess’s announcement and cancer itself, with commentators online questioning the efficacy of chemotherapy or blaming Kate’s diagnosis on Covid-19 vaccines.

There are now growing concerns among Whitehall officials about the possible involvement of state adversaries like China, Russia and Iran in the rise of conspiracy theories on social media surrounding the princess’s health, The Telegraph reported.
