Elsa had zero expectations of getting picked in the raffle but decided to take the leap of faith anyway, knowing that it was an opportunity she couldn’t merely throw away.
Eventually, as Taylor sings, “the planets and the fates and all the stars aligned” for Elsa and the pop singer to end up in the same room at the same time!
“‘Di ko [inakalang] mabubunot ako. Noong tinawag nila ako, sobrang nanginginig ako. Sobrang unexpected!” Elsa shared with When In Manila, recalling when she was called onstage to receive her prize. Three months later, after having gone to Singapore to attend the final night of The Eras Tour in the country, Elsa admitted that she still couldn’t believe that such a wonderful opportunity could happen to her.
Elsa’s prize package from Sun Life Philippines was all-inclusive. On top of the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour experience, she and her friend Joan were also provided round-trip flights and hotel accommodation for their three-day stay in Singapore.
“Sobrang saya! First time ko kasi mag-Singapore. Sobrang kakaiba pala ng experience,” Elsa said. “Still overwhelmed pa rin hanggang ngayon, I still can’t believe na nakita ko si Taylor Swift!”
She also said that she owes her win to her friend, Joan, who was actually the one who convinced Elsa to join the raffle as the bigger Swiftie between the two.
“Noong sinabi [ni Elsa] na kung may isasama siya, ako ‘yung bibitbitin niya, sabi ko ‘Oh my God, thank you!’” Joan gushed.
“Syempre, wala naman akong pipiliing iba kasi kasama ko na siya [sa Pasasalamat Concert.] Siya ‘yung nagyaya sa akin!” added Elsa.
They couldn’t thank Sun Life enough for the memorable evening. “Secure ‘yung buhay namin kay Sun Life kaya kahit saan kami pumunta, Sun Life pa rin [pipiliin namin],” said Joan.
On Elsa’s part, “Pinili ko kasi ang Sun Life para sa retirement fund at life insurance. Sobrang ganda kasi [ng benefit package]. Twenty-two years old lang ako nung kumuha ako sa kanila, ngayon 27 na ako.”
“Kaya sana may ganito ulit next year!” The two women joked. “Thank you so much Sun Life!”
