The suspect was identified by PMAJ Don Don Llapitan, the Chief Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) as Marilyn Mante Pandita, 48 years old, housemaid, native of Alabel, Sarangani, and resident of Brgy. E. Rodriguez, Cubao, Quezon City.

According to the report, at 8:45 PM of March 5, 2024, witness Aileen Santos saw smoke coming from the house of the victims prompting her to report the incident to Brgy. E. Rodriguez officials who sought assistance from the Quezon City Fire Department. Immediately, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel responded and at 9:40 PM of the same day, it was declared fire-out. When the area was searched, said personnel found the lifeless and bloodied bodies of the victims inside their bedroom, prompting them to report to the police authorities for investigation.

Subsequently, suspect Pandita was brought to the said Barangay for documentation, however, while the Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSOs) were busy, the suspect surreptitiously left with her personal belongings. At that instance, BPSO’s Nelia San Vicente and Joy Polizon chased and eventually cornered her along 15th Avenue corner P. Tuazon Avenue, Brgy. Socorro, Quezon City that led to her arrest. Recovered from her possession were an ice pick, plane ticket, cash money placed on a handbag, and other personal belongings.
