Veteran Filipino actress Jaclyn Jose has passed away at the age of 59.
According to reports, she died on March 3, 2024. As of writing, the cause of her death has yet to be disclosed.
Jaclyn is known for her remarkable contributions to the Philippine film and television industry. She began her acting career in 1984 in the drama films “Chicas” and “Private Show.” The renowned actress also earned recognition in Gawad Urian, Luna Awards, The Eddys, and Metro Manila Film Fest.
She made history as the first Southeast Asian to win the Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award for her role as Rosa in the 2016 drama film “Ma’ Rosa.” Jaclyn also appeared in popular films and series, including “Olongapo: The Great American Dream,” “Takaw Tukso,” “Itanong mo sa Buwan,” “Ataul: For Rent,” “The Flor Contemplacion Story,” and her recent project, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.”
She is survived by her children, Andi Eigenmann and Gwen Garimond Ilagan Guck.
