CAPAS, TARLAC – Japan and Kazakstan pulled off twin victories in the water polo event. At the same time, Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka signaled their serious intention in women’s artistic swimming as action in the 11th Asian Age Group Championships continued on Sunday.

After dominating the regular swimming event, the Japanese water polo squad led by Kai Inoue who scored seven points outlasted China, 4-11, in the men’s division.  Meanwhile, Yumeka Sanda and Shoka Fukuda scored five combined six points to carry the women’s squad past Thailand, 19-15.

Kazakstan also registered twin victories against Sri Lanka, 43-1, and 43-4, respectively.

Other winners in the men’s division were Uzbekistan over Saudi Arabia, 14-10; and Singapore over Malaysia, 23-8, while early winners in the women’s division were Uzbekistan, which nipped Singapore, 19-18.

In artistic swimming, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Sri Lanka they have made a good impression in preliminaries.
