Lawmakers in Tuvalu have selected Feleti Teo as the country’s new prime minister, the secretary of the government told AFP on Monday, weeks after an election that has put ties with Taiwan in the balance.
Former
attorney general Teo secured the support of lawmakers who were elected last month, the official said. There has been speculation that the Pacific island nation — one of just 12 states that still formally recognize Taiwan — could consider establishing relations with China. | via AFP
