On a stormy night in New York City, a mysterious egg crashes into a rundown apartment where 12-year-old Charlotte lives with her distracted family. She discovers the egg and a spider hatches from it. Charlotte, feeling isolated, secretly keeps the spider as a pet and names it Sting. As Sting grows into a monstrous size with an insatiable appetite for blood, pets and neighbors start disappearing. When Charlotte’s family and the building’s residents realize they are being hunted by a giant spider, it’s up to Charlotte to stop it.
